Panel №6 Mass Media

Globalization Models in the Mass Media and Communication Formats

Taking the current situation into account, the mission of mass information and communication media is to cover various ways of world community globalization. Communication formats should adequately reflect the spread of global processes and facilitate the accentuation of innovations and their worldwide dissemination. On the other hand, mass information and communication media should correspond to the peculiar nature of presenting diversified globalization models in the information space.

The panel is intended to initiate the discussion of changes in the mass communication structure, the nature of relations between the media and their audiences, social orientation of the content and peculiarities of information dissemination in modern context.

Main directions of the discussion:

  • Axiological structure of the news topic and news narrative (means and methods of presentation) and the practice of legal and administrative regulation of the information space;
  • New media (Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal) as a mechanism of social communication;
  • The blogosphere and social networks: the right to know or the sphere of contracting new community types;
  • Virtualization of informational narratives and the problem of informational content authenticity.
