Ibrahim ?zt?rk (Turkey), Associate professor of Economics, Department of Economics, Marmara UniversityProf. ?brahim ?zt?rk has been a lecturer at Marmara University (Istanbul, Turkey) since 1992.
?zt?rk carried out his PHD researches at Keio University, (Japan, Tokyo) and his dissertation is on “the rise and decline of Japan’s development institutions and policies in the post-second world war era.”
His field of expertise is development economics and area of interest is Asian economies.
Professor ?zt?rk spent his sabbatical at Tokyo University for one semester in 2004, worked for Institute of Developing Economies (an academic and policy oriented affiliate of JETRO) in 2005.
His major publications both in English and Turkish cover development studies, Japanese and the Turkish economy.
?zt?rk is a columnist at daily Zaman and Today’s Zaman in Turkey. He has been the chief economic advisor to Independent Industrialist and Businessmen Organization (M?S?AD) since 2002. Recently he is also an economic advisor to Istanbul based Chamber of Turkish Exporters (T?M)
He is a board member of Istanbul-based Japan Research Association (JAD) and a founder lecturer of Center of Asian Studies at Bo?azi?i University.
He is also a voluntary advisor to Dialogue Eurasia (DA), a multilateral grass root movement, supports peace and security in the wide geography in Eurasian geography.
